About the Photographer
This always seems so narcisistic.
My name is Ash Rhodes and I am located in East Mesa, Arizona. I've lived in several parts of the Southwestern United States broken up by a 3 year stint in Glasgow, Scotland. I was born during the dying gasps of the 1970s and so leave you to do the math as to what age that makes me!
I am not a professional photographer. Professional photographers are both much better at this and talk very seriously about light and f-stops, argue about Nikons vs Canons vs yer Mom, and know the real way to pronounce a word which has to do with things which honestly I know I should be thinking about when I'm taking pictures but I'm much more interested in making sure my lens cap is not on (inside photography joke. I promise).
Plus I still don't get paid nearly enough to make this a full time job!
Instead I'll say that I'm an avid hobbyist. I've dumped more money into photography than I ever have into my car. Which desperately needs it, by the way. I love taking pictures of people when they're going about their day, having fun and just freezing that moment . . . and even better is to have them see it and enjoy it. That's why very few of my photos are watermarked. That means that you're welcome to download them and use them for your Facebook/MySpace page, whathaveyou. I would of course love it if you could give a shout out to your good friend Ash over here at BlackHole Photography. If you can't remember that, I even have a little placeholder site at AshRhodes.com.
So there you have it! That's me. Take a look around. If you like what you see, order a print or ten. I get a few pennies for those. It helps!
Cheers,
~Ash.
